Divemaster
Open to all Rescue Divers with at least 20 logged dives, the Divemaster certification is the first professional level in the PADI system.
The Divemaster candidate perfects his or her scuba skills and diving knowledge to instructor level, learns to control groups of divers and assists instructors during lessons.
Certification as a divemaster allows the diver to become a professional member of PADI and receive the benefits of membership.
COURSE OUTLINE:
The course is made up of three modules:
- Knowledge development
- Waterskills and stamina
- Practical application
Module one involves knowledge development in 12 topics such as diving physiology and the use of the recreational dive planner. There are 8 quizzes to assess your knowledge.
The second module includes a review of rescue and accident management skills, the perfection of general diving skills, an assessment of your competency in the water and a test of stamina involving swimming/snorkelling.
The components of these two modules plus a couple of sessions from module 3 are scheduled on a regular basis and students must choose the sessions they wish to attend and advise us on their chosen dates.
During the third module, the student gains experience in carrying out the role of a divemaster under real conditions and must select dates to come and be assessed on both open water and pool training sessions.
