Isle of Man

Boat Diving

13th to 17th August 2016

The Isle of Man is well known for some of the best diving in the British Isles. It offers a mixture of excellent scenic dives with large colourful walls and a collection of good wreck dives. Being an offshore island visibility tends to be good and every dive offers a large range of marine life. As well as dives with seals and sightings of dolphins the Isle of Man is a hotspot for basking sharks and regular encounters are made (although nothing can be guaranteed).

Diving will take place from the 10m ‘Red Bay Stormforce’ a specially designed RIB which gets to dive sites quickly and comfortably and provides a great platform to dive from—and  has a lift for easy exits. The skipper, Mike, is not only a fantastic seaman but a real gent and guarantees we always get the best diving possible. Between dives we return to Port St Mary harbour for lunch and to get air fills. This is relaxed and allows divers to sort out cameras and prepare for the next dive.

You will enjoy 4 days boat diving with 2 dives per day including air fills and use of cylinders (you may bring a cylinder if you like).  A dive computer, SMB and reel are mandatory for each diver. Equipment can be hired from New Horizons.

This is a great trip for Advanced Open Water divers and above.

Accommodation is part of the package and is situated in between the villages of Port Erin and Port St Mary and has been graded 4 star, highly commended. The property boasts stunning views of the surrounding area and is ideally located for the dive centre and local amenities.

Car ferries go from Liverpool to the Isle of Man with a crossing time of 2 hours 30 minutes. To keep costs down it is a good idea to share cars for this journey and book early (cars in the Isle of Man will be useful) and we can help with this.
