Happy New Year
All the staff at New Horizons would like to wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable holiday period and that Santa brought you plenty of new toys and look forward to some great diving in 2009.

Continuing Dive Education
If you are thinking about continuing your dive education in 2009 you can take advantage of the following offers on Advanced, Rescue and Specialty Courses:

Advanced and Rescue courses:- Book your course before the end of January and receive the manual Free of charge saving you over £30. Not sure which dates you want to do yet? That’s fine, just pay your deposit before the end of January and confirm the dates later.

Specialities:- 3 for 2, When you book 3 specialty courses you will only pay for the materials on the lowest value one. Can't see dates that suit you or can't see the course that you want to do? Not a problem, give us a call and we will see if we can put the course that you would like on different dates. These offers are an ideal way to progress towards becoming a Master Scuba Diver. This is the highest, non professional rating, a diver can achieve. To gain this prestigious qualification you must be a Rescue Diver and have at least five PADI Specialty certifications.

Upcoming Courses
During February we have a number of courses running.

DPV Pool Session - Sunday 8th February 20:00, Macclesfield
This session will introduce you to the excitement and fun of using DPVs. It covers the basic operation and safety aspects of their use. This is an introduction only and does not result in certification. See our website for dates of the next DPV Specialty.

Enriched Air Specialty - Tues 10th February, NHDC
This course provides an insight into the safe use of enriched air nitrox for recreational diving and certifies the diver to use EANx with up to 40% oxygen but with an emphasis on 32% and 36% mixtures.
Complete the theory element for the NITROX course and then you can make the qualifying open water dives at your convenience.

Rescue Diver course - starts Sunday 15th February
Open to all Advanced Open Water divers with a current first aid certificate. This course is the minimum level we recommend divers attain as it builds confidence and self reliance.

Emergency First Response - Sunday 22nd February, NHDC
An innovative First Aid/CPR course strongly recommended for all divers. This qualification meets the prerequisites for the Rescue Diver course. Remember you should renew your EFR training every two years – (SAVE £30 if you complete this as a refresher – using your original materials)

Introduction to Dive Computers - Tues 24th February, NHDC
Learn how to use modern dive computers (Suunto range) safely and get the most from them. Cost just £25

UK Trips - Update
We still have some spaces on a small number of UK trips scheduled for this year. Scapa Flow – a week long trip enjoying some world class wreck diving. St Abbs – an ideal location for all levels of divers. If you haven’t experienced UK diving before this is an ideal location to start.
