Open Water Diver (Part 1) Referral Course

Going on holiday and would like to dive? Why not pass the theory and pool elements of your course at home and then complete your qualifying open water dives on your holiday?

This is a great way to get the most from your Open Water course by learning at a relaxed pace at home with excellent instructors and then enjoying your qualifying dives in beautiful warm seas. By doing this you will also save spending around three days on your holiday in classrooms and swimming pools.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Knowledge Development

You will need to complete some self study using a loaned DVD and your manual, and then attend a knowledge review session(s) and pass your final exam.

Pool Training

You will complete a series of 4 pool sessions (covering 5 modules) at local swimming pools (Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Lymm or Sandbach). Class sizes are small, typically no more than three students to each Instructor.

MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR COURSE:

You will need to purchase the following package:

• Open Water Diver Manual
• Recreational Dive Planner (RDP)
• Self-Study DVD (loaned for duration of course)

MATERIALS PROVIDED FOR COURSE:

• Deluxe Log System

PRE-REQUISITES:

• Minimum Age: 10 years
• Able to swim 200m and tread water for 10 minutes
• Completed Medical Form

Open Water Diver (Part 1) Referral Course - Lymm

Each of our courses at Lymm take place over four consecutive Thursday evenings. These run on a regular basis, just let us know when you would like to start.

SCHEDULE:

Please Note: On the final Thursday of your course, the theory session will start at 17:30 to allow time to complete the Final Quiz.

Open Water Diver (Part 1) Referral Course - Executive Option

If our open water schedule doesn't meet your time constraints, or you'd prefer private tuition, try our executive option. You'll have your own instructor and can select suitable dates to fit in with your diary.

• Individual student - as per Open Water Referral Dates plus £50
• 2 students booking together - as per Open Water Referral Dates plus £20 per person
• 3 or more students booking together - as per Open Water Referral Dates plus £10 per person

Open Water Diver (part 2) Completion Dives

Having successfully completed your PADI Open Water Diver (part 1) Referral Course (knowledge development and pool training) you will be ready to explore the wonders of the underwater world.

To receive your PADI Open Water Diver certification you will need to complete four qualifying dives in open water.

COURSE OUTLINE:

You will participate in a pool session wearing a drysuit to learn its correct use, followed by two days at Capernwray (near Lancaster) to complete your four open water dives. On the second day you will complete an additional dive to qualify for your Drysuit Speciality qualification (to gain this qualification you will need to come into the Dive Centre one evening for a theory review).

MATERIALS PROVIDED FOR COURSE:

• Full SCUBA equipment
• Air fills

PRE-REQUISITES:

• Evidence of completed Open Water Referral Course
• Evidence of completed Medical Form
