National Geographic Diver

 

What is it?

National Geographic and PADI have created the National Geographic Diver Specialty which trains you to become a diver with the skills of a true explorer. Experience adventure and acquire navigation, buoyancy and exploration skills with the National Geographic Diver programme and even take digital images of what you observe underwater. These critical skills are the foundation for exploring the underwater world and becoming true adventurers and conservationists.

National Geographic Divers gain greater knowledge, demonstrate skills and complete underwater tasks that broaden their awareness while scuba diving. Becoming a National Geographic Diver is great fun and gives you more confidence to explore the underwater world safely. The National Geographic Diver programmes can only be offered by selected PADI 5 star centres which over the years have excelled in their educational standards; customer and retail service – assuring you that you are being taught by the best.

How do you become a National Geographic Specialty Diver?

You will increase your knowledge of the underwater world including the marine life, wrecks and geology by using the highly acclaimed National Geographic Diver Almanac and DVD. Then you will explore the underwater world during a days diving where you will fine tune your buoyancy skills, practice your underwater navigation then complete an exploration project with an underwater digital camera to record your dive.

Simply enrol on the programme, collect your National Geographic Diver almanac and DVD and have fun going through these before completing the knowledge review. You will also choose one of available dates for your two National Geographic Specialty dives to explore the underwater world.

MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR COURSE:

  • Required - National Geographic Almanac and DVD
  • Optional - National Geographic Binder

MATERIALS YOU SHOULD BRING:

  • Full SCUBA gear (available for hire at half normal price)
  • Slate & pencil
  • Your own logbook

PRE-REQUISITES:

  • Minimum age: 12 years
  • Minimum Certification: Entry-level scuba certification
  • Drysuit experience
