Marsa Alam - Red Sea

The Red Sea, Egypt provides UK divers with the closest coral reefs and clear blue water. The sea temperature in December is warm and the weather pleasant and sunny. It is an excellent destination to escape from the winter chills of Britain at an attractive price. Visibility is good and the variety of fish species and corals is huge.

Marsa Alam is the gateway to the exciting Southern Red Sea and its colourful, pristine reefs. The coastal reefs are stunning with impressive hard and soft corals, elaborate topography and an amazing abundance and variety of colourful fish. Also available are the dramatic walls and drop-offs of Elphinstone Reef which offer a spectacular dive and sharks often swim by the spot to feed on the abundant reef fish population. A trip to Sha’ab Samadai or ‘Dolphin House’ is another great experience - a large, horseshoe-shaped reef creates a shallow, turquoise lagoon that is frequented by a pod of around 60 spinner dolphins.

Flights are direct from Manchester to Port Ghalib (Marsa Alam) with a 10 minute transfer to the hotel.

 

PACKAGE:

This 1 week package offered by Regaldive, includes half board twin occupancy accommodation for 7 nights; return flights from Manchester to Marsa Alam and transfers. Five or six day dive packages are booked through Emperor Divers and include 2 dives a day from a boat with air, cylinders and weights. (Please note a supplement, paid locally, will be made for certain dive sites e.g. Elphinstone). Snorkelling packages from the boat are also available. Finally, New Horizons will provide you with your own group dive and holiday leader to organise dives and provide expertise.

ACCOMMODATION:

The Coral Beach Diving Hotel is a new hotel (although not on the beach), offering a good standard of accommodation and facilities. Located in the up and coming resort of Port Ghalib, this hotel is ideally situated, close to the airport. The hotel offers Half Board accommodation in 206 air-conditioned rooms, each with en-suite facilities. All rooms have a private balcony or terrace with views of the garden or the port. There are two large swimming pools at this hotel and a large sun terrace. The dive centre is conveniently located on site.

COURSES:

Sign up for an Open Water diver course in the UK and finish the dives in Egypt! Complete your open water dives of the PADI Open Water Diver course for a trip package price of £175.00 per person. This includes four training dives, certification costs and SCUBA gear rental for one week (excluding wetsuit & computer).
