Red Sea Liveaboard - 'Simply The Best' Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone
Liveaboard
M/Y Blue Horizon, Southern Red Sea, SIMPLY THE BEST
The Red Sea, Egypt provides UK divers with the closest coral reefs and clear blue water and is ideal to explore some of the best marine life in the world. The sea temperature in August is warm and the weather can be hot with a pleasant sea breeze. Visibility is excellent with 20+ metres being the norm and the variety of fish species and corals is huge.
A liveaboard is the best way to explore this diver’s playground with the excitement of the most outstanding reefs in the world. The trip has been organised through Blue O Two.
Your adventure starts by flying direct to Hurghada airport and then transfering to the liveaboard vessel MY Blue Horizon. The liveaboard boat then sails to the offshore reefs which will be explored on this trip including Daedalus, The Brothers and Elphinstone. These reefs undoubtedly offer some of the best and most unspoilt diving in the world. They are only readily accessed by liveaboard boats and special licences are needed to dive them. This trip should appeal to all divers whether you are interested in the marine life, photography or just love the thrill of exploring pristine reefs in beautiful warm, clear waters - with the real possibility of encountering larger marine life.

DIVING:
Deadalus
This small, isolated Reef, also known as Abu el-Kizan lies nearly halfway to Saudi Arabia. Its walls are carpeted in softcorals, hard corals & enormous sea fans. Some of the hard coral is awesome and the underwater scenery is spectacular. Dived less often and more unspoiled this place is our pick of all the Southern sites. Expect to see schooling Baraccuda, Jacks, Tuna, Rainbow runners, Grey Reef Sharks and Hammerheads. Threshers and Dolphins can also be seen on occasions as can Mantas and Whale Sharks. A large field of beautiful anemones/clownfish, easily ranks with Anemone City at Ras Mohammed.
Elphinstone Reef
The sheer walls of this great reef plunge steeply into the blue, richly decorated with soft corals, sponges, gorgonians and fans. Sharks often swim by the spot to feed on the abundant reef fish population. The northern plateau is home to schooling hammerheads with frequent sightings of oceanic white tip sharks.
Big Brother
The northerly of the two islands with a small lighthouse. It has two wrecks laying on its walls. At the northern most tip of the island lays a large freighter named the Namibia, the other is the Aida II, an Egyptian supply vessel that struck at night. There is excellent wall diving all along the southern side of the reef with currents promoting the growth of a spectacular forest of soft corals. Frequent sightings of big pelagics and an astonishing variety of marine life.
Little Brother
At the northern end is a long tongue of reef that extends seaward and in good weather it is possible to drop in here and drift. The current runs from east to west and here sharks may be seen cruising. On the south east side is a superb fan coral forest, there are also plenty of caves, overhangs, black coral, and lots of pelagics including sharks, tuna, barracuda, turtles and schools of reef fish. In summer thresher sharks are seen here. Before you know it your computer will tell you its time to head back to the boat having had the most spectacular diving.
