Technical Diving

Whether you're a fairly experienced diver looking for something more or a very experienced diver about to embark on a new branch of the sport, New Horizons Dive Centre are now offering IANTD technical diving courses, and trips specifically designed for the technical diver.

IANTD Advanced Nitrox

The IANTD Advanced Nitrox course is your first step into the world of technical diving. If you enjoy exploring dive sites, including many wrecks around our coasts, between 25 and 42 metres and want to spend more time down there then this is the course for you. This course teaches you how to do this safely covering the use of twinsets, stage cylinders and decompression diving using higher percentage mixes to reduce stop times.

COURSE OUTLINE:

The goal of the IANTD Advanced Nitrox course is to enable the experienced diver to safely have longer in-water exposures and plan the resultant decompression profiles. Using Nitrox as your bottom gas and up to 50% Nitrox as a decompression gas you will accelerate your decompression stops as well as increasing your available bottom time. The course covers equipment considerations, oxygen tracking, decompression dive planning along with practical experience using twinsets and stage cylinders.
