PADI Open Water Diver Course

The Course

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the fun of scuba diving. Wherever in the world you travel the PADI Open Water certification will be instantly recognised allowing you to get on with your diving. This course will take you from being a complete beginner to holding this PADI certification which will be your passport to underwater adventures around the world as well as in the UK.

Course Outline

The PADI Open Water Diver course is modular and is made up of three elements:

Knowledge Development to enable you to understand the basic principles of scuba diving. Some home study, using the manual and DVD which we provide, is followed by Instructor led sessions.

Confined Water sessions to learn basic scuba skills safely in the comfort of local, warm swimming pools. You will also have a pool session learning how to use a drysuit before your open water dives.

Open Water Dives to gain your certification you will complete 4 Open Water dives, over 2 days with your PADI instructor. During these you will enjoy the amazing experience of diving in open water whilst showing your instructor the skills you learnt in the pool.

Course Duration / Schedules

You can complete the Knowledge Development and Confined Water sessions over four Sunday afternoons or, if you prefer, a single weekend. Your Open Water dives will normally take place over a Saturday and Sunday.
