Scapa Flow - Week

Hard Boat Diving
Orkney Islands

10/07/2010 to 17/07/2010 (Sorry, this event has now ended)

Scapa Flow

Scapa Flow is a dramatic and windswept expanse of water some 12 miles across which is almost completely encircled by the islands of Orkney. It is one of those legendary dive areas that every diver aspires to visit at least once in their lives. The Flow is the site of the scuttling of the entire German Imperial Navy’s High Seas fleet in 1919. Most of the wrecks have since been salvaged but eight from the original seventy four still remain. Together with other, more recent wrecks, these provide an exhilarating opportunity for some world class wreck diving. The rugged landscape forms a seemly backdrop for a once in a lifetime holiday.

GETTING THERE:

Ferry crossings to the Orkneys (Stromness to Scrabster) are timetabled by Northlink Ferries on Saturday 11th (possibility of two or three ferries - crossing time 90 minutes) with return travel on Saturday 18th July. DIVING:

The diving for this trip is planned to include 12 hard boat dives aboard the MV Radiant Queen over the course of the 6 days.
