Isle of Man - Long Weekend

The Isle of Man is well known for some of the best diving in the British Isles. It offers a mixture of excellent scenic dives with large colourful walls and a collection of good wreck dives. Being an offshore island visibility tends to be good and every dive offers a large range of marine life. As well as dives with seals and sightings of dolphins the Isle of Man is a hotspot for basking sharks and regular encounters are made in June and July (although nothing can be guaranteed).

New Horizons have put together a package with Isle of Man Diving Holidays. The package consists of four nights in a large self catering house and four days diving from a RIB (rigid hull inflatable boat). The accommodation is between Port St Mary and Port Erin whilst the boat is in the harbour at Port St Mary in the south of the island. This is ideal to dive the spectacular sites around the Calf of Man.

GETTING THERE:

Two car ferries go from Liverpool to the Isle of Man each day with a crossing time of 2 hours 30 minutes.

DIVING:

The diving for this trip is planned to include 8 rib dives over the course of the 4 days.

Please note: Due to the nature of the diving this trip is only open to divers of at least Advanced Open Water certification and above with at least 30 logged dives, some of which should be sea dives in drysuits.

DATES:

These trip dates include the date of travel and arrival the day before diving. Diving then takes place on the last day with return travel in the evening.

TRIP COSTS:

Costs include 4 days of rib diving, the services of a New Horizons instructor to lead the trip and organisation fees.

Additional expenses not included in the trip costs comprise the ferry (car with 3 people costs approximately £200 return), air fills and food costs.

ACCOMMODATION:

Accommodation has been pre-booked in a 5 bedroom self catering house with breakfast provided (although we have to cook it!!!), costing approx. £120 for the 4 nights.

Please note:- each diver will need two cylinders for the trip. Also required are computers, knives, delayed SMBs and torches which are not included in the gear rental price.
