Rescue Diver

The Course

The PADI Rescue Diver course is best described as both ‘challenging’ and ‘rewarding’. This course expands on what you already know about preventing problems and how to manage them if they do occur. During the course you will gain in confidence as a diver and become more aware of other divers and your diving environment. On certification you will say it is the most valuable and enjoyable course you’ve have taken.

Course Outline

The PADI Rescue Diver course is modular and is made up of three elements:

Knowledge Development to enable you to understand the principles of rescue theory. Some home study, using the manual and DVD which we provide, is followed by Instructor led sessions to ensure your full understanding.

Confined Water sessions, during three pool sessions you will learn and develop self rescue skills, techniques to deal with problems on the surface and underwater, dealing with responsive and non-responsive divers and exit techniques. These sessions are fun and include scenarios which prepare you for the open water dives.

Open Water Dives on a day at Capernwray you will participate in a series of accident scenarios allowing you to put into practise what you have learnt in realistic settings.

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Speciality is an optional course which helps you apply your first aid training to diving situations. This will also count towards your Master Scuba Diver rating. Pay only £59 (including materials and certification) when booked with the Rescue Diver course.

Course Duration & Schedules

Having completed your self study from the course manual and DVD you will complete some theory and practical sessions at the NHDC classroom, followed by practical application at the swimming pool. New Horizons aims to be flexible with arranging courses to suit your schedule. A number of dates throughout 2017 have been confirmed.  Due to the nature of this course, including the scenarios, it is best to participate on a schedule with other students, but if these dates are impossible please give us a call to discuss alternatives.

This can be done in conjunction with any of our scheduled courses and costs only £215 including materials (plus £59 if you also want to complete the optional Oxygen Provider Specialty).
